The Search Engine Research project aims to better understand search behavior. The project is composed of a survey and a Chrome extension.
The survey includes questions on demographics political attitudes, media related behavior, and online search behavior. The extension collects Google and Google News search results for several common queries. We match the search results with the survey answers. The extension does not store any identifying information. All of the information is held in confidence. No personally identifying information will be shared with anyone. If results from the study are published, it will be done in a way that does not identify the users.
